  • The cost is £40 per person.
  • This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable unless the sailing session is cancelled by the club.
  •  No under 18s even with parents or guardian.

​Places are limited and subject to availability. Please note we don't operate a waiting list, as we don't have any admin capacity to do this as a entirely volunteer run club. 

2026 RYA Courses 

RYA Dinghy Level 2 Courses are open to all. You will need to send a proof of your RYA Dinghy Level 1 course certificate to [email protected]

Please note that we do not run a Dinghy level 1 course as we are a small volunteer run club.

Booking, Cancellation and Refund Policy

Consent Form

You must complete a consent form before you come sailing as a non member. You will not be able to sail if you do not complete the form. 
Members must fill the consent form annually. 

Full Membership

Annual membership is £170 (£120 for those between 18 and 24 or over 65).  
You must meet the following criteria to join the Shadwell Sailing Club.
Existing Members - please send your membership payment via BACS transfer.
Membership Requirements:
  • You must have a RYA Level 2 Dinghy sailing qualification OR similar sailing experience in tidal waters. You will need to send a copy of your certificate to the Club.
  • If you do not have a RYA Dinghy level 2, but wish to join, please get in touch with the Club to discuss further. You must complete the RYA Dinghy level 2 within the calendar year.
  • ​Members must attend the maintenance weekends between October, February, and March. 
  • ​Members must be part of member duty rota: duties include but not limited to helming (and taking non-members on board on taster days), safety boat driver, rib crew, beach master etc.
We sail on the Thames every Tuesday evening and some weekends between April and September, and the occasional weekend later in the year. Sailing largely stops over winter. 

Temporary Membership

​Temporary Membership is available for previous members who want to join a single session on a one off basis.
You have:
1) Been a Member of the Shadwell Sailing Club before.
2) a RYA Dinghy Level 3 or above, or equivalent sailing experience.
or
You are a guest of a Shadwell Sailing Club Member on a Member only sessions.
